We started our empty nester journey in the fall of 2023 when both our kids left within a few weeks of each other. While our daughter moved across country, our son is just 4 hours away, for now, and still comes home from college for the summer and holidays. While we celebrate the empty nest with this blog, we cherish any time we have with our kids. In fact, we plan a lot of vacations and trips around where they live or we meet up somewhere new. And, they are always welcome home with open arms!

 

A little about us. 

 

We live in Greater Cincinnati so our blog is primarily focused on things we do in Ohio and the Midwest. Eric works at a performance training and development company as a creative director and Paola is a Sr. Manager of Marketing for a major vision benefits company. Eric also plays guitar in a classic rock band. Our daughter is 23 and works as a journalist for a major newspaper in the Southwest. Our son is 20 and is studying Transportation Design at a design college in the Midwest.

 

While our kids are away, the time is all ours! To help us organize and enjoy our newfound time, we created several “bucket lists” (travel, restaurants, museums, TV shows, etc.), we joined a wine club, Paola amped up on “girls night outs” and Eric upped his band practices, light candles on our dinner table and so much more.
